Abstract
Background : The decreasing number of teeth in the elderly can affect the health and quality of life of the elderly. 2018 Riskesdas results show pispercentage of tooth loss as big as 26,49% increased become 34,1% (SKI 2023) however, the use of dental prostheses is still low, therefore it is necessary to carry out health promotion using media about removable dental prostheses which can help the elderly understand the material provided, one of which is using media. booklet. Research purposes : To find out the effect of promotion using booklet media on increasing knowledge and motivation to use removable partial dentures in the elderly Method : The research design is Like an experiment with a plan NonEquivalent Control Group. Sampling using techniques Disproportional Stratifield Random Sampling with a sample size of 96 respondents from a population of 1034 people, research instruments using questionnaires, data analysis using tests Wilcoxon and test Mann Whitney. Results : There is an influence of media use booklet on knowledge and motivation to use removable partial denture prostheses in the elderly. Media use booklet in promotion can increase knowledge significantly in the experimental group (0.000<0.05). Motivation to use removable partial dentures also increased after promotion using the media booklet in the experimental group (0.000<0.05). Conclusion : Promotion using media booklet can influence increasing knowledge and motivation to use removable dental prostheses in the elderly.
