Abstract
FACTORS INFLUENCING THE LEVEL OF DYSMENORRHEA AMONG 11TH GRADE FEMALE STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 6 YOGYAKARTA IN 2026 Arina Mutiara Hastari1, Heni Puji Wahyuningsih2, Atik Ismiyati3 1,2,3 Department of Midwifery, Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Yogyakarta, Jl. Mangkuyudan MJ/III/304, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta 1Email: arinamutiara2712@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background: Dysmenorrhea is abdominal pain that typically occurs during menstruation, with a prevalence reaching 64.25% in Indonesia and 52% in the DIY Province in 2023. Various factors are suspected to influence its severity, namely nutritional status, stres levels, dietary habits, physical activity, sleep quality, and secondhand smoke exposure. Objective: To analyze the factors (nutritional status, stres levels, dietary habits, physical activity, sleep quality, and secondhand smoke exposure) influencing the levels of dysmenorrhea among 11th-grade female students at SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta in 2026. Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted in May 2026 at SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. The research subjects consisted of 116 eleventh-grade female students selected using a total sampling method. Data were collected via self-report. The variables investigated included dysmenorrhea pain intensity (NRS), nutritional status (BMI), stres levels (KPDS-10), dietary habits (EEQ), physical activity (IPAQ SF), sleep quality (PSQI), and secondhand smoke exposure (ISAAC). Data were analyzed using Spearman’s Rho correlation test. Results: The majority of students experienced mild (44.8%) and moderate (36.2%) dysmenorrhea. Bivariate analysis showed no significant relationship between the incidence of dysmenorrhea and nutritional status (p=0.522), dietary habits (p=0.195), physical activity (p=0.234), sleep quality (p=0.575), and secondhand smoke exposure (p=0.061). A significant positive correlation was found between stres levels and dysmenorrhea (p<0.005). Conclusion: Stres level is the dominant factor influencing the severity of dysmenorrhea among 11th-grade female students at SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta, while other physical and lifestyle factors did not show a substantial contribution in this study. Keywords: Dysmenorrhea, Female Adolescents, Stres, Reproductive Health.
