Abstract

FACTORS INFLUENCING GESTATIONAL HYPERTENSION AT DR. SOETARTO HOSPITAL Kusnul Khotimah1, Yuni Kusmiyati2, Yuliasti Eka Purnamaningrum3 1,2,3Department of Midwifery Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta Jl. Mangkuyudan MJ III/304 Yogyakarta Email: kusnul032@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background: Gestational hypertension is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the world, both for the mother and the fetus. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021 hypertension in pregnancy contributed 14% of maternal deaths. The prevalence of hypertension in pregnancy increases in African countries by 46%, the United States the incidence of pregnancy with hypertension reaches 6-10%. Indonesia has a prevalence of hypertension in pregnant women of 12.7%. Objective: To determinants the factors that influence gestational hypertension at Dr. Soetarto Hospital. Methods: This type of research is quantitative observational analytic with case control design. The sample in this study were all pregnant women in 2023 to 2024 at Dr. Soetarto Hospital Yogyakarta consisting of 97 case groups and 97 control groups with sampling techniques using purposive sampling. Data analysis used chi square test and logistic regression. Results: There is an association of education (P=0,032), history of hypertension (P=0,002), history of diabetes mellitus (P=0,023) and obesity (P=0,029) with gestational hypertension. There was no association of maternal age (P=0,237), occupation (P=0,772), parity (P=0,167), comorbidities (P=0,147) with gestational hypertension. The most dominant factor influencing gestational hypertension at Dr. Soetarto Hospital Yogyakarta was diabetes mellitus (Exp (B)=11,331; 95% Cl=1,382-92,888). Conclusion: Factors that influence gestational hypertension at Dr. Soetarto Hospital are history of diabetes mellitus, history of hypertension, obesity and education.
