Abstract
Background of Study: Oral and dental health still become a problem for children. Children aged 10-12 years need to get more attention about oral health, specifically brushing their teeth. A proper knowledge about brushing teeth will have a good impact on children, so that they are able to maintain healthy teeth and mouth. Objectives of Study: Aims to know the description of knowledge level of brushing teeth of children aged 10-12 years in Rejoso Village, Jogonalan, Klaten. Method of the Study: The type of this research is descriptive. The population in this study were children aged 10-12 years as much as 90 children. This research sample used purposive sampling technique obtained as many as 47 respondents. Collecting data being used is a questionnaire distributed to respondents. Data is presented in the form of cross tabulation. Result of the Study: The results showed that the level of knowledge about brushing teeth of children aged 10-12 years in Rejoso Village, Jogonalan, Klaten in the category of knowledge of brushing teeth with good criteria is (91.5%), the moderate criteria is (8.5%), and bad criteria is (0%). The category of how to brush teeth is good, which shows in percentage of (44.7%), the moderate criteria is in (36.2%), and the bad criteria is (19.1%). The categories of tools and materials for brushing teeth are good which in (85.1%), moderate criteria is (14.9%), and bad criteria is (0%). Conclusion: The level of knowledge about brushing teeth has good criteria in the categories of knowledge of brushing teeth, how to brush teeth, and tools and materials for brushing teeth.
