Abstract

Hospital is a part of overall health system which provides health services that comprehensive, promotif (health counseling), preventive, curative, and rehabilitative. It can also become a place for education and research for health workers. Beside the main function as a health service provider, hospital can also be a place to transmit disease called Nosocomial Infection or Healthcare Associated Infection (HAIs). Cockroaches often roam in kitchen and food processing places, dustbin, and dirt so they have to be well handled. Cockroaches can also be a threat if their infestation in hospital is high. The aim of this research was to know the effect of the use of Imidakloprid 2.15% and Fipronil 0.05% on cockroach death in nutrition installation at Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta. The type of the research was quasi experiment with control design. The object of the research was cockroaches in Nutrition Installation at Dr. Sarjito Hospital, Yogyakarta. The research was conducted on Jan-Feb 2018. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.00 for Windows and followed by Man-Whitney test. There was an effect of using Imidakloprid 2.15% and Fipronil 0.05% on cockroach death in nutrition installation at Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta with p-value 0.000. The concentration of Imidakloprid 2.15% insecticide has the highest effectiveness and efficiency compared to Fipronil 0.05% with 261 death cockroaches or 29death in average.There is an effect of the use of Imidakloprid 2.15% insecticide compared to Fipronil 0.05% on cockroach death in nutrition installation at Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta with p-value 0.000<0.05.
