Abstract

ABSTRACT Background : Fungi is one of the causes of infectious diseases in Indonesia. One of the fungal infections is otomycosis caused by the Aspergillus flavus fungi. Diagnosis of diseases caused by fungi direct test and isolation of the fungi on the media. Different types of fungi growth media have different nutrient compositions. So that a fungi will have different growth when cultured in various media. Objective : To know the effectiveness of the growth of Aspergillus flavus on SDA and MEA media compared to PDA media. Methods : This research a quasi-experimental study using a Posttest Only Control Group Design. This research was conducted in February-March 2021. The objects used in this research were SDA and MEA media, while the subject used in this research was the Aspergillus flavus fungi. Results : The mean of Aspergillus flavus colony on SDA media was 64.02 mm, while the mean diameter measured by the diameter of Aspergillus flavus colony on MEA media was 58.99 mm. The percentage of effectiveness growth of Aspergillus flavus on SDA media was 101% with very effective criteria, while the percentage of effectiveness growth of Aspergillus flavus growth on MEA media was 93% with effective criteria. The results showed that the effectiveness of Aspergillus flavus growth on SDA media was better than the effectiveness of Aspergillus flavus growth on MEA media. Conclusion : The effectiveness of Aspergillus flavus growth on SDA media was better than the effectiveness of growth on MEA media and PDA control media. Keywords : Efectivity, Aspergillus flavus, SDA, MEA ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Jamur merupakan salah satu penyebab penyakit infeksi di Indonesia. Salah satu penyakit infeksi jamur adalah otomikosis yang disebabkan oleh jamur Aspergillus flavus. Diagnosis penyakit yang disebabkan oleh jamur dapat dilakukan dengan pemeriksaan langsung dan isolasi jamur pada media.Macam-macam media pertumbuhan jamur memiliki komposisi nutrien yang berbeda-beda. Sehingga suatu jamur dapat mengalami pertumbuhan yang berbeda ketika dikulturkan dalam berbagai macam media. Tujuan : Mengetahui efektivitas hasil pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media SDA dan MEA yang dibandingkan dengan media PDA. Metode : Penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2021. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah media SDA dan MEA sedangkan subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jamur Aspergillus flavus. Hasil : Rata-rata diameter hasil pengukuran diameter koloni jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media SDA adalah 64,02 mm sedangkan rata-rata diameter hasil pengukuran diameter koloni jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media MEA adalah 58,99 mm. Persentase efektivitas hasil pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media SDA adalah sebesar 101 % dengan kriteria sangat efektif sedangkan persentase efektivitas hasil pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media MEA adalah sebesar 93% dengan kriteria efektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan efektivitas hasil pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media SDA lebih baik daripada efektivitas hasil pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media MEA. Kesimpulan : Efektivitas hasil pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media SDA lebih baik daripada efektivitas hasil pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media MEA dan media kontrol PDA.
