Abstract

Background: According to nutrition status data on children at Moyudan medical center, 7,1% is know to be in thin nutrition, 18,4% is short nutrition, and 11,1% is lack nutrition. There is a need to have a preventition towards stunting problem especially with little doctor training for measuring antropometri (weight, height), and interpreting nutrition status based on IMT/U index in SDN Ngijon 1. Aim of research: Knowing the effect of little doctor training with simulation method towards the improvement of measuring skill for weight and height and interpreting nutrition status. Research method: The research used quasi experiment with pre-test and post-test design without control group. By using 30 students as sample which taken from purposive sampling. Result: The training with simulation method can improve the skill of measuring weight (Z = -4,878 ; p ≤ 0,05) and height (Z = -4,812 ; p ≤ 0,05) and nutrition status interpretation (Z -5,069 ; p ≤ 0,05). Conclusion: There is an effect of little doctor training with simulation method towards improving the skills of measuring weight and height and nutrition status interpretation based on IMT/U index.
