Abstract

Human’s health degree can be affected by several factors, there are environment and human itself. Environmental prevention efforts in the form of sanitation can be carried out in various places. One of the public places has the potential as a place for disease transmission, environmental pollution or health problem is school. Based on the preliminary survey result there are various problem regarding the condition of sanitation facilities including the availibility of clean water, toilets, trash cans and waste water sewerage. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the condition of existing sanitation facilities in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam. This type of research is a survey with descriptive analysis. The result of this research found that in the aspect of clean water of sanitation facilities from 3 parameters all were Qualified. In the aspect of toilets from 8 parameters that studied, 4 parameters were Not Qualified there are : the number of toilet at least 1 toilet for 40 students, clean and odorless, the availibility of soap in the toilet, and the floor not slippery. In the aspect of trash can from 3 parameters that studied, 2 parameters were Not Qualified there are the availibility of trash can with covers in each room and the availibility of landfills. In the aspect of waste water sewerage from 6 parameters that studied, 2 parameters were Not Qualified there are waste water sewerage does not contaminate the environment and the wastewater is discharge through a septic tank. The conlusion of this research is the sanitation facilities in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam obtains a value of 12 Qualified parameters with a precentage (60%), which means “Not Healthy” where the standards of healthy the qualifiying parameters have a value ≥70%.
