Abstract
THE RELATIONS BETWEEN LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND STUNTING PREVENTION BEHAVIOR AMONG ADOLESCENTS AT SMKN 2 GEDANGSARI GUNUNGKIDUL REGENCY Rahma Marwah Hasyim1, Nanik Setiyawati2, Yuliantisari Retnaningsih3 Midwifery Department of Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta E-mail: rahmadecm@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background : Stunting is a serious problem in Indonesia because the prevalence rate is still above 20%. The government has a target to reduce the prevalence of stunting to 14%. However, the incidence of stunting in Gedangsari, Gunungkidul is still above 20% in 2021, so Gedangsari is a priority focus location for stunting prevention. The causes of stunting in Gunungkidul Regency include adolescent health problems and lack of knowledge about stunting. Objective : This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and stunting prevention behavior in adolescents. Methods : Analytical observational research with a cross sectional design using primary data from a questionnaire on the level of knowledge and stunting prevention behavior. The subjects of this research were 88 young women at SMKN 2 Gedangsari, Gunungkidul Regency using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis used the chi-square test. Results : The results of analysis using the chi-square test for the relationship between level of knowledge and stunting prevention behavior among adolescents at SMKN 2 Gedangsari show that the p-value is <0.05, namely 0.01. This shows that there is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and stunting prevention behavior among adolescents at SMKN 2 Gedangsari. Conclusion : There were 55 respondents (62,5%) who had good knowledge about stunting and 60 respondents (69%) had good behavior in preventing stunting. There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and stunting prevention behavior among adolescents at SMKN 2 Gedangsari.
