Abstract

CLASS EFFECT ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF KNOWLEDGE HUSBAND FATHER OF PREGNANCY DANGER SIGN IN RURAL AREAS OF SOUTH RENGASDENGKLOK DISTRICT HEALTH RENGASDENGKLOK KARAWANG YEAR 2013 ABSTRACT Background: Every year in the province of West Java are 700-800 mother died in childbirth. Many died due to maternal health workers helped or difficulty of access to the health service. Indirect causes of maternal death are: her husband ignorance in recognizing complications, so late decision to deal with complications. Efforts to improve the knowledge of the husband was the father of the class so that the husband can recognize complications and danger signs of pregnancy. Objective: To determine the effect of the father class husband to increased knowledge about danger signs of pregnancy in the village of South Rengasdengklok Working Area Rengasdengklok Khanewal district health center in 2013. Research methods: The study design was quasi-experimental. This research subjects, totaling 26 people treated group and 26 control group. Subjects were husbands of pregnant women in the village of South Rengasdengklok. Measuring instruments used were questionnaires knowledge about danger signs of pregnancy. This research analysis using Paired t-test and independent t-test. Results: The results of the analysis using t-test showed no difference in the value of pretest-posttest level of knowledge given class husband and father were given leaflets. Where the value of ρ value of 0.000 in the two groups (ρ value <0,05). Test results of independent t-test showed no difference between the husband's increased knowledge of the treatment group and the control group, the value of 0.000 ρ <(ρ 0,05). Conclusion: There is a class effect of the father of the husband's increased knowledge about danger signs of pregnancy. Keywords: Knowledge, Mr. Class, Leaflets and Pregnancy Danger Signs.
