Abstract

RELATIONSHIP OF TOOTH LOSS PATTERN AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF ELDERLY IN KEDUREN VILLAGE PURWOREJO DISTRICT Mukti Anggorowati1, Taadi2, Almujadi3 Department of Dental Nursing Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta Jl. Kyai Mojo No 56, Pingit, Yogyakarta Email : muktianggorowati@gmail.com Abstract Based on BPS survey in 2014, the elderly population ini Indonesia is increasing. Increasing the number of elderly will increase the health problems of elderly one of them is tooth loss. The number of tooth loss that occurs ini Indonesia is 24% in the population aged 65 years and above. Tooth loss is one of the causes of nutritional intake disorders. Nutrition problems that occur in elderly can be less nutrition or more nutrition. This study aims to determine the relationship of tooth loss pattern with nutritional status of elderly in Keduren Village Purworejo District. This type of research is quantitative research with cross sectional approach in 60 respondents. This study was conducted by measuring height and weight (BMI) and examination of tooth loss pattern. In this study the greatest of tooth loss pattern is Class I, are amounted 35 respondents (58,3%). Based on nutritional status, it was found that normal nutrition is the greatest are amounted 34 respondents (56,7%). Result of statistic test by using Kendall’s tau obtained p-value 0,081 so that Ha rejected. The result of the study generally indicate that there is no significant relationship between tooth loss pattern with nutritional status in Keduren village Purworejo district.
