Abstract
Kesimpulan:Ada hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dengan kejadian preeklamsia pada ibu hamil di RSUD Wonosari Kata kunci: Indeks Massa Tubuh, Preeklamsia, Ibu Hamil ABSTRACT Background: Preeclampsia is a major cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality in the world. Obesity is a factor that is closely related to the incidence of preeclampsia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body mass index and the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at Wonosari Hospital. Methods: This analytic observational study with a case-control design was conducted at the Wonosari Hospital on January 1 - September 30, 2020 involving 180 samples divided equally, each allocated as a case group and controls allocated by systematic random sampling. The incidence of preeclampsia was determined as the dependent variable, while BMI was the independent variable. Several variables were set as external variables, including: maternal age, gravida status, history of preeclampsia in previous pregnancies, family history of preeclampsia, multiple pregnancies, chronic hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. The data taken is secondary data selected by systematic random sampling, analyzed by chi square test and logistic regression. Results: There is a significant relationship between BMI and the incidence of preeclampsia (p-value 0.000).Pregnant women with obesity have a risk of 4,003 times to experience preeclampsia compared to normal BMI pregnant women. There was a relationship between previous history of preeclampsia and the incidence of preeclampsia (p-value 0.023). Maternal age, gravida status, family history of preeclampsia, multiple pregnancies, chronic hypertension, and diabetes mellitus were found to have no statistically significant relationship with the incidence of preeclampsia (p-value > 0.05). From the logistic regression analysis showed that BMI and previous history of preeclampsia affect the incidence of preeclampsia, but history of preeclampsia is not a confounding variable. Conclusion: There is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at Wonosari Hospital Keywords: Body Mass Index, Preeclampsia, Pregnant Women
