Abstract
Background: Anemia is caused by a deficiency of macro and micro nutrients that play a role in the formation of hemoglobin. The prevalence of anemia according to Riskesdas from 2013 to 2018 has increased, increasing the number around 23.9% to 27.2%. Efforts are made to overcome anemia by consuming foods rich in iron, vitamin C and a source of protein Aim: To know correlation of iron intake, protein and vitamin C with the case anemia in adolescent girls in Pengasih Vocational High School Method:This research was observational with cross sectional design. Primary data with a questionnaire distributed used google form. Total sample of 87 respondents, data collection began on June 16 to June 18, 2020. Data analysis used chi-square test Results: The majority of adolescent girls have less iron intake (60,9%), less protein intake (56,3%), less vitamin C intake (89.7%) and the case anemia (59,8%). The analysis showed that there was a statistically significant correlation between iron intake with anemia (p-value of 0,000) and protein intake (p-value of 0.012) while that in vitamin C intake (p-value of 0.322) there was no significant correlation statistically significant. Conclusion: There was a correlation of Iron intake and protein with the case anemia in adolescent girls, while that in vitamin C intake there was no significant correlation statistically significant in Pengasih Vocational High School.
