Abstract

Yamtana*, Bambang Suwerda*, Lilik Hendrarini* Abstract The purpose of this research is knowing the influence of processing System Stage Multy (SSM) to an improved quality laundry liquid waste in Badegan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research is a true expreriment, using research "Test Pre-Post Test With Control Group Design". Object of research is the laundry liquid wastes "X" in Badegan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Variable expreriment: Processing System Stage Multy (SSM) laundry liquid waste. Variables affected by levels: Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and pH. Characteristics of the controlled variables namely laundry wastewater and effluent sampling time bar. Laundry research location "X" in the RT. 12 Badegan Hamlet, Village Bantul, District of Bantul, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Data were analyzed by descriptive and analytic, data normality using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test followed by multivariate ANOVA.         Multivariate ANOVA test results showed that the levels of BOD5 between treatment groups with the control group there was no effect with p = 0.201. COD levels between treatment groups with the control group there was no effect with p = 0.328. pH levels between treatment groups with the control group no significant effect, with a value of p = 0.000. Effect of Processing System Stage Multy (SSM) to an improved quality of laundry wastewater to levels: BOD5 a decline of 366.4 mg/L or 65.05%; COD a decline of 931.25 mg/L or 63.9%; pH decline of 2.28 or 21.84%. No effect of processing System Stage Multy (SSM) to an improved quality of laundry wastewater for BOD5. No effect of processing System Stage Multy (SSM) to an improved quality of laundry wastewater to COD. There is a treatment effect System Stage Multy (SSM) to an improved quality of laundry wastewater for pH parameters. The type and thickness of the filtration media can not be fully effective in filtering waste, for it needs to be examined on the thickness and type of media. Keywords: Processing, System Stage Multy (SSM), laundry wastewater
