Abstract

ABSTRACT The achievement of postpartum contraception has not yet reached the target. Various activities have been carried out in order to increase the coverage of postpartum contraception services, but have not shown increasing results. One of the possible causes for not achieving these indicators is the lack of cadre participation in efforts to improve family planning indicator achievements.To know the influence of cadre assistance on postpartum contraception participation in Puskesmas Pengasih I year 2021.This research used metode quasi experimental with posttest-only control design. Sampling technique by inclusion and exclusion criteria as many 15 respondents on each control and treatment groups with a sample of pregnan woman in the third trimester. he variables studied were the influence of cadre mentoring and postpartum family planning participation. The instruments used were Standard Operating Procedures for cadre assistance in postpartum family planning participation. Data analysis used chi square and regrresi logistic.Characteristict responden show 1) Majority of mothers age was 20-35 years old (83,3%), Senior High School graduated (70,0%), work as a private / self-employed (50,0%) dan each parity was 1 and 2 children (36,7%). 2) There was an influence of mothers’ parity toward postpartum contraception participation. Meanwhile, there were no influence of mothers age, educational level and occupation toward postpartum contraception participation. Postpartum contraception participation mostly used contraception (56,7%). 3) There was an influence of cadre assistance on postpartum contraception participation (P=0,000). Final contraception used by postpartum mothers was IUD (43,3%).Conclusion There was an influence of cadre assistance on postpartum contraception participation in Puskesmas Pengasih I year 2021.
