Abstract
Improved facilities and infrastructure, increasing population and changing consumption patterns will increase the volume, type and characteristics of waste. Increased volume and type of waste requires attention for waste management in the hope it will create a clean and healthy environment. One of the current government efforts to address the garbage problem is to disseminate the program sorting and recycling of waste through waste bank program. waste bank is one solution to perform effective waste management and sustainable community level presence can also provide economic benefits to the community. This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to identify major compensation fund (Willingness To Accept / WTA) are prepared to accept the public against the waste bank. Respondents in this study were 40 respondents who are customers of waste bank Lintas Winongo in Kalurahan Bumijo, Jetis District and customers of waste bank Surolaras Kalurahan Notoprajan Ngampilan District of the city of Yogyakarta. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. Primary data obtained from direct interviews with respondents. The tools used for data collection include: stationery, calculators, computers, interview / questionnaire, and digital cameras. Secondary data in this study were obtained from the relevant governmental institutions and literature studies. Analysis of Willingness To Accept (WTA) using Contingent Valuation Method approach to data processing devices Microsoft Excel 2007. The results showed that people's willingness to accept compensation (WTA) varies depending on the type of waste that is deposited. Large flats are prepared to accept compensation fund community (WTA) for plastic waste Rp. 1127.5 / kg, for waste paper Rp.1605 / kg, glass bins Rp 475 / kg and metal trash Rp. 2,145 / kg. These results will help the authorities as a material consideration in providing compensation to the community in an effort to waste management with waste bank system.
