Abstract

Background : Diabetes mellitus is a disease of metabolic which is characterized by high levels of sugar blood as a result of a deficiency secretion of insulin, interruption of activity of insulin, or both . One of the ingredients of food that is belived to be beneficial for people with diabetes is the onion black . Black onion is results fermented garlic white at a temperature of 70 ⁰ C for 21 days and has a content of SAC (S- allyl cysteine) who is able to repair the damage of oxidative on disease degenerative . Objective : To determine the effect of giving black onions (Black Allium Sativum ) with a certain composition on blood sugar levels in white mice (Rattus novergicus) Diabetes Mellitus. Methods : The study is using a pretest posttest with control group design with 6 groups of treatment is 1 control positive ( rat DM), 1 control negative ( rat normal), three groups of mice diabetes by giving onion black composition of the 36 mg/200gBB, 72 mg/200gBB, 144 mg/200gBB and one group of mice a normal with the administration of onion black composition of the 72 mg/200gBB. The data obtained will be analyzed by paired t test , Anova One Way and continued with Post Hoc Test . Results : Onions black on a group of mice DM and rats normally give the effect of a decrease in the levels of sugar blood . Composition of onion black d ith a dose of 144 mg/200gBB proved to be most effective to lower the levels of sugar blood . Conclusion : There is an effect of giving black onion (Black allium sativum ) on blood sugar levels in white mice (Rattus novergicus) Diabetes Mellitus and the composition of 144 mg/200gBB is most effective in reducing blood sugar levels . Latar Belakang : Diabetes mellitus merupakan penyakit metabolik yang ditandai dengan tingginya kadar gula darah sebagai akibat dari kekurangan sekresi insulin, gangguan aktivitas insulin atau keduanya. Salah satu bahan makanan yang diyakini bermanfaat bagi penderita DM adalah bawang hitam. Bawang hitam merupakan hasil fermentasi bawang putih pada suhu 70⁰C selama 21 hari dan memiliki kandungan SAC (S-allyl cystein) yang mampu memperbaiki kerusakan oksidatif pada penyakit degeneratif. Tujuan : Mengetahui pengaruh pemberian bawang hitam (Black Allium Sativum) dengan komposisi tertentu terhadap kadar gula darah pada tikus putih (Rattus novergicus) Diabetes Mellitus. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan Pretest Posttest with Control Group Design dengan 6 kelompok perlakuan yaitu 1 kontrol positif (tikus DM), 1 kontrol negatif (tikus normal), 3 kelompok tikus DM dengan pemberian bawang hitam komposisi 36 mg/200gBB, 72 mg/200gBB, 144 mg/200gBB dan 1 kelompok tikus normal dengan pemberian bawang hitam komposisi 72 mg/200gBB. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis dengan uji t berpasangan, Anova One Way dan dilanjutkan dengan Post Hoc Test. Hasil : Bawang hitam pada kelompok tikus DM maupun tikus normal memberikan pengaruh penurunan kadar gula darah. Komposisi bawang hitam dengan dosis 144 mg/200gBB terbukti paling efektif menurunkan kadar gula darah. Kesimpulan : Ada pengaruh pemberian bawang hitam (Black allium sativum) terhadap kadar gula darah pada tikus putih (Rattus novergicus) Diabetes Mellitus dan komposisi 144 mg/200gBB paling efektif menurunkan kadar gula darah. Kata Kunci : Bawang Hitam, Diabetes Mellitus, Penurunan Kadar Glukosa Darah.
