Abstract

Every living being has a need. Humans have diverse needs. However, Essentially every human being has the same basic needs. People suffering from schizophrenia have difficulty in performing basic daily needs such as bathing, dressing, eating, drinking, defecate, and resting sleep. In the working area of Puskesmas Gamping 1 Sleman Yogyakarta district as many as 44 people experienced Schizophrenia. From the results of interviews with 5 people with schizophrenia and their families, it was found that 4 out of 5 families think clients with schizophrenia tend to depend on others in performing daily needs such as eating, washing clothes, bathing and wearing clothes. Description of fulfillment of daily basic needs of Schizophrenia client in working area of Puskesmas Gamping 1 Sleman Yogyakarta.The research method use is descriptive survey. The subjects of the study were Schizophrenia clients in the working area of Puskesmas Gamping 1 of Sleman regency Yogyakarta with 44 people. The research was conducted in July 2017. The research location is in Ambarketwang village and balecatur village. The study was conducted by a questionnaire consisting of two parts, namely the demographic questionnaire and the basic physiological needs questionnaire. In the sub variable is independent and not independent.In this research, it was found that the fulfillment of bathing requirement of 68.18% was self-sufficient, fulfillment requirement of 93.18% self-sufficient, 100% self-sufficient toileting fulfillment and 63.64% requirement of sleep resting not yet independent.Meeting the daily basic needs of Schizophrenic clients in the working area of Puskesmas Gamping 1 Sleman Yogyakarta for bathing, dressing, eating, drinking, toileting can be done independently while sleep rest is not yet self-sufficient.
