Abstract

Rejection roof tiles resulting from the failure of the production process of the roof tile industry in Klaci III that are not used will produce a product in the form of roof tile fractions waste. Unmanaged roof tile fraction waste can result in aesthetic disturbances, resulting in an accident if punctured or slipped, and resulting in air pollution from dust due to roof tile fractions that are run over by vehicles in a long time. Roof tile fractions can be reused as additional material in making brick. The purpose of this research is to know the compressive strength of each variation of adding roof tile fractions. This type of research is an quasi experiment with post test design with control group design. Independent variables in this research are addition roof tile fractions, variation “A” by 1,19 kg, variation “B” by 3,74 kg, and variation “C” by 6,19 kg. Based on the result of the compressive strength, known that average to variation “A” of 12,82 kg/cm2, variation “B” of 18,73 kg/cm2, and brick control group. The conclusion of this research is the variation “C” has highest compressive strengh and exceeds the control brick who made by brick makers community but has not qualified with SNI-0349-1989 (21 kg/cm2).
