Abstract
Flies density is one indicator of inadequate waste management or low sanitation condition, so that it can cause a decrease in environmental quality. Market is a place that same locations inside have ideal conditions for flies to breed, because produces a lot of garbage and organic waste, as the results of activities in fruit booths, vegetable booths, fish booths, meat booths, and waste disposal site. The purpose of this study was to determine the density of flies in those booths and at waste disposal site in Godean Market and to find out the related factors, i.e. temperature, humidity, lighting, and trash condition. This type of research is a survey with cross sectional approach using fly grill and carried out in February to May 2019. The results of the study show that the average flies density in fruit booths is 8/ block grill, in vegetable booths is 3 /block grill, in meat booths is 16/ block grill, in fish booths is 4 /block grill, in food stalls is 5/ block grill and in waste disposal site is 25/block grill. The highest fly density is at waste disposal site (TPS). Descriptively, there is no relationship between temperature, humidity, lighting and waste can condition with flies density in Godean Market.
