Abstract
ackground : Anemia in pregnancy is a major nutritional problem suffered by pregnant women. Anemia in pregnancy will adversely affect mothers, both during pregnancy, labor, and childbirth, as well as on lactation. Anemia also affects to the fetus. Maternity compliance in consuming iron tablets is influenced by practices in preventing anemia during pregnancy. Counseling about anemia and iron tablets for pregnant women is very necessary to be given to pregnant women to improve compliance in consuming iron tablets. Objective : To find that counseling with audiovisual media able to improve maternity compliance in consuming iron tablets at Puskesmas Paliyan Gunungkidul in 2018 Method : This study was true experimental with pre and post control group design. This study was conducted in June 2018. The study population of this study was all pregnant women who did the examination at the Puskesmas Paliyan. The samples with 64 pregnant women, 32 in the experimental group and 32 in the control group. Independent t-test and Paired t-test were used to analyze data. Results : Adherence improvement in counseling group with audiovisual media was 43,73, and in counseling group with leaflets media was 31,60. Results of Paired t-test and Independent t-test obtained p-value 0,000 (p < 0,05). Conclusion and Recommendation : Counseling with audiovisual media able to improve maternity compliance in consuming iron tablet.
