Abstract

Background: There are 7.2% of 485 toodlers had under red line weight at Kediri village, Kediri, West Lombok. Many factors gave impact on under red line weight case. i.e.parenting, economical level of the family, parents knowledge, familys food supply, worm infection, diarrhoea, health services, sociocultural condition, and family consumption pattern. Objectives: To identify some factors relating to under red line weight case at Kediri village, Kediri, West Lombok. Method: The research was conducted with case control design that was matched with ages. The case was toddlers with under red line weight that were result of weighing operation on December 2011 at Kediri village, Kediri, West lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province as many as 35 toddlers. The control group was toddlers with normal weight, living in the same area with the case, as many as 35 toddlers. Suspected risk factors causing under red line weight were parenting, economical levels of the family, parents knowledge, familys food supply, worm infection, diarrhoea, health services, sociocultural condition, and family consumption pattern. Data was analysed with chi-square and OR. Result: Some risk factors relating to the case of under red line weight are parenting, economical level of the family, parents knowledge, worm infection, diarrhoea, sociocultural condition, however, worm infection is the most dominant factor.
