Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF THE LEVELS OF KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES ABOUT DISMENORERAGE IN CLASS VIII STUDENTS OF TEMPEL 1 JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, 2023 Olyvia Angelita Putri1 , Heni Puji Wahyuningsih2 , Anton Kristijono3 Department of Midwifery The Polytechnic Health, Health Ministry of Indonesia Republic Yogyakarta, Jl. Mangkuyudan MJ III/304 Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta,55143 Email: olyviaangelita0207@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background: Based on the results of the preliminary study conducted by the researchers through observation and interviews, it was found that in one week there were 1-2 female students who came to the UKS because they complained of back pain due to dysmenorrhea and there were also several female students who did not report and did not come to the UKS preferring to sleep in class. The results of interviews with 10 female students regarding knowledge and attitudes towards dysmenorrhea, as many as 6 people who have knowledge about dysmenorrhea and 4 students who do not know about dysmenorrhea. Purpose of Study: To know the description of the level of knowledge and attitudes about dysmenorrhea in class VIII students at Tempel 1 Junior High Scholl in 2023 Methods: This research was a descriptive study using a cross sectional design. The subjects in this study were all grade VIII students at Tempel 1 Junior high School which took place on April 18 2023 with a total of 95 respondents. The analysis in this study was univariate data analysis. Results: The results showed that based on the level of knowledge of students about dysmenorrhea, 69 respondents (72.6%) had sufficient knowledge, 14 respondents (14.8%) had good knowledge and 12 respondents (12.6%) lacked knowledge. ). Based on the attitude of the students towards the indicators, the results showed that 81 respondents (85.3%) agreed with the indicator that I felt pain in the abdomen before menstruation and when I experienced pain, I did not concentrate in class. Conclusion: Based on the research that has been done, it shows that the knowledge of students about dysmenorrhea at SMP N 1 Tempel mostly has a sufficient level of knowledge as many as 69 respondents (72.6%) and most of the attitudes of the students agree with the indicators.
