Yogyakarta E-mail: valeriaimanesa@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background: the prevalence of the elderly suffering from hypertension continues to increase, so appropriate control efforts are needed, one of the efforts to control hypertension is using pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy, the management of nonpharmacological therapy is in great demand because it is easy, efficient to do, including stopping smoking, reducing alcohol consumption, reducing salt and fat intake, increasing fruit and vegetable consumption, excessive weight loss, physical exercise and complementary therapies. Complementary therapies that can be offered are foot soak therapy with warm water where this therapy can improve blood vessel microcirculation and vasodilation, dilate blood vessels and improve blood circulation so as to stimulate the nerves in the feet to activate parasympathetic nerves, causing changes in blood pressure. Purpose: Apply foot soak therapy with warm water in fulfillment of comfort to lower blood pressure in two elderly cases in the working area of Puskesmas Godean 1 Yogyakarta. Method: Using the case study method with a gerontic nursing care process approach through the application of foot soak therapy with warm water for 1 time for 5 days for 20 minutes. Results: After implementation for three visits through the application of foot soak therapy with warm water in meeting the needs of comfort, it was found that there was a decrease in blood pressure in two elderly people with hypertension. Conclusion: Non-pharmacological actions with the application of foot soak therapy with warm water show a decrease in blood pressure and provide relaxed conditions so that a sense of comfort is fulfilled in hypertensive elderly.
