Abstract

ASI was very usefull for mother and baby. Breast milk contains many nutrients babies need in the first 6 months after birth. There are factors influence exclusive breastfeeding that can inhibit the secretion of the hormone oxytocin. One way to stimulate the hormone oxytocin is by using oxytocin massage. Prolactin and oxytocin have an important role in adequacy of breast milk. One way to stimulate let down reflex is with acupressure. Purpose this study was to analyze effect of giving acupressure and oxytocin massage to time of delivery and adequacy of breastfeeding in postpartum mothers. The study used a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design with quantitative approach. Population is all postpartum mothers who experience vaginal delivery in 2021 as many as 166 people. The number of samples in the study were 70 postpartum mothers who met the inclusion criteria based on the calculation of the slovin formula. Conclusion acupressure had more effect on the time of delivery and the adequacy of breastfeeding than oxytocin massage for postpartum mothers.
