Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Fracture is a break in the continuity of bone tissue caused by trauma which results in broken bones. One of the fracture management is Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) surgery. After the ORIF procedure is performed, the patient will feel pain due to the incision and fixation. Pain that is not treated properly will affect healing, interfere with the immune system, thereby increasing the risk of infection and prolonging hospitalization. Murottal therapy is a distraction method to treat pain. Objective: Able to perform nursing care for patients after ORIF surgery by applying murottal therapy to treat pain. Methodology: Conducting a 4-day case study on postoperative ORIF patients with the application of murottal therapy at Nyi Ageng Serang Hospital, Kulon Progo. Results: Murottal therapy is effective in fulfilling the need for comfort in postoperative patient pain. Conclusion: The main complaint that occurs in patients after ORIF surgery is acute pain. Pain management can be carried out non-pharmacologically, one of which is the distraction technique of murottal therapy. Al-Qur'an murottal strains can reduce stress hormones and activate natural endorphins which cause relaxation. This mechanism can reduce pain and increase comfort.
