Abstract

Background : Knowledge is the result of "knowing" that enters through the five human senses. Knowledge can be obtained from several factors, namely the level of education, employment, age, socio-economic, experience, environmental culture, and information. Low public knowledge causes wrong behavior about brushing teeth. Brushing teeth is one of the procedures to maintain healthy teeth and mouth. Research Objective : To find out the description of the level of knowledge of brushing teeth in students Class III SD Muhammadiyah Banyuraden. Research Method : Using descriptive research with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 46 respondents. The variable in this study is a single variable, namely the level of knowledge of brushing teeth. The time of the study was conducted in February 2019. Methods of collecting data using a questionnaire. Data analysis is presented in the form of cross tabulation. Research Result : obtained data on the level of knowledge of brushing teeth of respondents with good criteria (37.0%), moderate criteria (56.6%), and poor criteria (6.5%). Conclusion : that most respondents had a level of knowledge of brushing teeth with criteria both on female respondents (21.7%), 9 years old (23.9%), respondents had received counseling (37.0%), and sources of information knowledge from electronic media (19.6%).
