Abstract

Background: One of the factors which have relationship with the process of caries is the hygiene of the dental and oral. The limitation of sense of sight caused the obstacles in the practice of the dental and oral hygiene. Visionless people has the bad risk in dental and oral hygiene than the people who has normal sight. Purpose: To investigate the oral hygiene status and dental caries status to the visionless students in Yaketunis. Research Method: This research was descriptive method with the cross sectional approaching. The subject of this research were the visionless students in Yaketunis with 45 respondent using total sampling technique. The instrument of this research using the examination format OHI-S, DMF-T and def-t. Result: The respondents oral hygiene status with the most result is 78% in medium criteria. The respondents dental caries status with the most result 49% in medium criteria. The oral hygiene status including the good criteria, the dental caries status including the low criteria (80%). Conclusion: The oral hygiene status in a good criteria, the dental caries status in a low criteria. Keywords: Dental Caries Status, Oral Hygiene Status, Visionless.
