Abstract
Medical solid waste is generated directly from the actions that are taken on patients such as direct medical actions or diagnostic actions. The Covid-19 outbreak is a global problem that has a serious impact on the entire world's population, this pandemic has increased the rate of medical waste generation by around 30-50%. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of sorting, storing, and transporting solid medical waste during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Seyegan Health Center. This type of research is descriptive research and the data collection method used in this research is observation, checklist, and documentation which refers to the Minister of Health Regulation No. 7 of 2019 concerning Hospital Environmental Health Regulations. The object of research is the sorting, storage, and transportation of solid medical waste. The results obtained are at the stage of sorting for the condition of the color of the plastic bags and the symbol does not match the container and label of solid medical waste, at the stage of storage for chemical and pharmaceutical waste containers do not use brown plastics, and the transportation stage at the Seyegan Health Center was still done manually. The conclusion of this study is that the management of solid medical waste at the Seyegan Health Center has met the requirements according to the Minister of Health Regulation No. 7 of 2019 concerning Hospital Environmental Health Regulations related to the process of sorting, storing, and transporting. It is recommended to the Health Center to repair and improve infrastructure and commitment in management of solid waste. Keywords: management, solid medical waste, health centers, Covid-19
