Abstract
THE DESCRIPTION OF FOOD KNOWLEDGE ABOUT FOOD CARIOGENIC IN MARDISIWI KLEDUNG TK TEMANGGUNG DISTRICT Sudiasih, Dwi Suyatmi, Desi Rochmawati Department of Dental Nursing, Ministry of Health, Yogyakarta Jalan Kyai Mojo No. 56 Pingit, Yogyakarta, 55243 Email: sudiasih@gmail.com Background: Kariogenic foods those are very popular with children at school. This condition can affect children's dental health. Some examples of cariogenic foods that can affect children's dental health are: bread, chocolate, candy, donuts and ice cream. Based on dental and oral health records at Mardisiwi Kindergarten of 46 students, 23 (50%) of them experienced dental caries because children like to eat sweet and sticky foods. Research objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the description of maternal knowledge about cariogenic foods at Mardisiwi Kindergarten, Kledung Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency. Research methods: This was a descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 46 mothers of students in Mardisiwi Kindergarten, with a total sampling technique. The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis. Research Results: The results of the study showed that the majority of maternal age characteristics were mothers at 20-35 years old ( 63%), based on the education characteristics 71,7% respondent were of elementary and junior high school. Based on the monther knowledge about cariogenic foods in TK Mardisiwi, Kledung Subdistrict, Temanggung District,there were 52,2% of the mothers were catagorized as enough. Conclusion: The maternal age characteristics were about 20-35 years old. That respodent were graduates of elementary and junior high school, maternal knowledge about cariogenic food in TK Mardisiwi, Kledung Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency was sufficient .
